Services

Services that keep IT change controlled

Five services for organisations that need IT change to be controlled, documented and handed over cleanly. Each one names the frameworks it uses.

Azure cloud migration and adoption

Who it is for

Organisations with an on-premise data centre or hosted estate that want to move services to Azure without unplanned disruption to business operations.

What changes

A phased migration plan with dependencies, cutover windows and rollback steps agreed before any server moves. An estate of about 100 servers has been moved this way with little to no downtime.

Frameworks used

Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure, Azure Migrate, GDS cloud-first principles, ITIL v4 change enablement.

Trusted research environments and secure data platforms on Azure

Who it is for

Research and analytics teams that need to use sensitive healthcare or other personal data under strict access control.

What changes

A secure research environment on Azure, based on Microsoft's open-source trusted research environment. Access is granted per study, and a multi study workspace model gives secure access to Azure Synapse.

Frameworks used

Microsoft's open-source trusted research environment, Azure security controls, ITIL v4 access management.

IT service delivery and operations improvement under ITIL v4

Who it is for

IT leaders running service desks, production operations or network operations who need fewer repeat incidents and clearer service performance.

What changes

Incident, problem, change and request practice with a service catalogue and a configuration management database. Tickets raised from infrastructure and application events can be automated and escalated. In one engagement, automated ticketing and escalation cut operations workload by about 30%.

Frameworks used

ITIL v4, ITIL Continual Service Improvement, COBIT 5 for governance and control.

Technical delivery management and programme governance

Who it is for

Programmes with technical risk, several suppliers, or teams that need a clear line of control.

What changes

Governance agreed at the start: stage approvals, a risk and issue log, a reporting cadence for the sponsor and a handover plan into operations. Iterative work runs under Scrum where it suits the delivery.

Frameworks used

PRINCE2 Practitioner, Scrum (Professional Scrum Master), COBIT 5 control objectives.

IT healthcheck, accreditation and compliance support

Who it is for

Organisations that must show assessors, regulators or partners that their IT controls meet an agreed standard.

What changes

Ownership of healthcheck remediation across sites, with the evidence assessors need. Past work delivered Public Sector Network accreditation and Police National Database certification.

Frameworks used

IT Healthcheck findings, Public Sector Network requirements, COBIT 5, ITIL v4.
